A New Bevanda: Demanded a vote on next year's budget

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda expressed regret that there was no willingness today to include the Draft Budget of BiH institutions and international obligations of BiH for 2023 on the agenda of the Council of Ministers of BiH session. Minister Bevanda emphasized that it is necessary for all budgets in BiH to be adopted by the end of the year and that the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH has completed its part of the work because there are urgent obligations that can only be completed by adopting the budget.

According to Minister Bevanda, it is also worrying that the Fiscal Council has not yet adopted the Global Framework of Fiscal Balance and Policies in BiH for the period 2022-2025, although the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH had previously submitted a proposal for a statement.

“That was the reason why, along with the Budget, I proposed several points that would unblock many processes and enable the efficient operation of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH and the unimpeded functioning of BiH institutions, especially the obligations we have towards employees after certain legal changes,” emphasized Minister Bevanda.

He added that the refusal of the members of the Council of Ministers of BiH to include next year's budget on the agenda led to ministers from the Croatian people voting against the proposed agenda.

Minister Bevanda added that he expects this process to move forward so that the financial operations of BiH institutions, which have numerous requests, can continue unimpeded.
