No talks between old friends, Trump uninterested in meeting with Musk

(Patria) - There are no plans for US President Donald Trump to have a conversation with Elon Musk today, a White House source familiar with the situation told Reuters.

In a phone interview this morning, a few hours after a heated exchange with Elon Musk, Donald Trump, according to an ABC News report, sounded extremely indifferent about their conflict.

Speaking by phone this morning, just before 7 AM Eastern Time, ABC asked him about reports that he had a scheduled conversation with Musk later that day.

"You mean the man who lost his mind?" he asked, adding that he was "not particularly interested" in talking to him at the moment.

He said Musk wanted to talk to him, but he was not ready to talk to Musk.

Elon Musk had previously signaled that he might back down from his public feud with the US president.

Politico also reported overnight that the White House had scheduled a conversation with Musk after both exchanged sharp words on Thursday.

In a feud that took place on social media and during one of Trump's White House appearances, Trump stated that he was "very disappointed in Elon" due to Musk's criticism of his tax and spending law. Musk, on the other hand, said that the president's trade policies could cause a recession and mentioned Trump's connections with convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
