They Don't Want to Register Military Property to the State: Dodik Blocks BiH's Path to NATO via Han Pijesak

As expected, the RS Legal Affairs Office will file an appeal with the Constitutional Court of BiH and request a stay of execution of the decision of the Appellate Chamber of the Court of BiH, which ordered that military property in Han Pijesak (Veliki Žep facility) be registered to BiH, writes the Patria News Agency.

The RS will seek to block the execution of the court decision until the request for a review of the procedure in this case is adopted, writes Glas Srpske.

RS President Milorad Dodik said that he will order that the disputed property not be registered as BiH property and that the National Assembly of RS will make a decision on this.

The blocking of this decision, or rather the refusal of the RS authorities to register the largest military complex in BiH to the state, is not just of a legal nature. This is clear from the sequence of actions.

First, the RS Legal Affairs Office uses legal remedies, and then Dodik involves the legislative authority, which serves as an alibi for his plans.  

The policy of the smaller BiH entity of "no to BiH joining NATO" is being reflected precisely now in Han Pijesak. There are 23 more locations on the territory of RS that should become state property.

One of the conditions for activating the MAP for our country is precisely the registration of military property to the state.

By refusing to make Han Pijesak state property, and for the entity to no longer have rights to this property, Dodik is most directly blocking BiH's path to NATO.

 

Ahead of the July NATO Summit in Warsaw, Dodik stated:

- Whether we will go to NATO will definitely be decided by the people in RS, and that will be at a referendum, Dodik said in June this year, emphasizing that those who say such a referendum cannot be held are wrong. 

He stressed that without the decision of RS, BiH cannot move towards NATO. Therefore, the refusal to register Han Pijesak to the state is not a surprise.

It is significant that this decision by the RS authorities comes just one day after the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdić, met in Brussels with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who praised BiH's progress in fulfilling the tasks for activating the MAP. 
 
Dodik's move now halts the progress that was evident. It is common knowledge that Russia is the one that does not want BiH to become a member of NATO, and that it is doing everything to block Serbia, and our country through RS.
