SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In many comments on the changes to the BiH Election Law and the FBiH Constitution imposed by High Representative Christian Schmidt, two things are a common denominator - the cementing of the HDZ and ethnic representation, and the near end of efforts to build Bosnia and Herzegovina as a modern, European state.
This is also pointed out by professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, Vahidin Preljević, stating that Schmidt's impositions and everything surrounding them must not be allowed to kill the dream of a civic state.
"Before the OHR intervention, the civic state was a great dream of a just state of equals, difficult to achieve even then, but not entirely unrealistic. Like Kant's regulative idea. The real danger of the OHR amendments is not some detail, but that they threaten to kill our dream," Preljević emphasizes.
He adds that "this dream is undoubtedly civilizationally and culturally superior to the concept of mono-ethnic and corrupt bantustans under the control of neighboring states."
"It must be preserved as a guiding principle and ideal, and the struggle must continue. Despite everything. Through the system and outside of it. They must not kill our dream," concluded Professor Preljević.
We remind you that citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina have already shown through protests in June that they do not want Schmidt to kill that dream, nor to cement dangerous policies as a continuity of power in BiH.
It is expected that this message will be repeated on Monday, October 24 at 5 PM, at new protests regarding Schmidt's impositions.
