Police in the Swedish city of Malmö today arrested a 46-year-old from Bosnia and Herzegovina based on a request from France. They claim the arrested person is a "dangerous jihadist linked to ISIL".
As the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network of Bosnia and Herzegovina unofficially learns, the arrested individual is Osman Kekić, also known as Abdulaziz, who has long been known to police agencies in our country.
Kekić arrived in Sweden by plane from Tuzla together with four children and immediately requested asylum. He was arrested while waiting for passport control. Kekić is currently in custody and, according to local authorities, his deportation to Bosnia and Herzegovina is pending.
Kekić has already been arrested in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Six years ago, he was arrested together with a group of members of the Salafi movement by the police of Republika Srpska in the area of Novi Grad and Kozarska Dubica.
They were suspected of spreading national, religious and racial hatred and intolerance in the territory of Republika Srpska using propaganda and banned materials.
At that time, Mirsad Crnalić, whose wife is a Swedish citizen, was also arrested with Kekić, Patria reports.
