NATO knows what is being done in BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - "Bosnia and Herzegovina has been in the NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) since 2018, and the BiH Ministry of Defense is implementing all activities arising from that status, which are regulated by the Reform Program sent to NATO headquarters in Brussels," confirmed the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sifet Podžić, in an interview with Fena.

Podžić recalled that there was a problem in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the name of that document, but as far as the Ministry of Defense is concerned, more than 70 percent of the obligations stipulated by the Reform Program have been fulfilled. He added that reports on this have been submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that everything can be submitted collectively to NATO headquarters in Brussels.

Deputy Minister of Defense Mijo Krešić leads the team for drafting the Reform Program within the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH, and the Reform Program for 2021 has already been completed, according to which these institutions are working, and there are delays when it comes to officially submitting reports to Brussels.

"These are technical matters, such as what the program will be called and so on, and for all those who live in the illusion that NATO does not know what we are doing, I will just say that the Reform Program was translated from our language into English at the NATO headquarters in Sarajevo," the minister emphasized.

However, it should not be forgotten that the past year was marked by the coronavirus pandemic, which is why some activities were postponed and not completed, and NATO requested the postponement of some of them.
