NATO Headquarters Welcomes Constitutional Court Decision to Reject RS Appeal on Military Property

NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo welcomed the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH to reject the appeal of the Public Attorney's Office of Republika Srpska regarding military property, noting that it is not sufficient for the activation of the Membership Action Plan (MAP), it was announced from NATO Headquarters, reports Patria News Agency.

- Such a decision will help register immovable military property as the property of BiH for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of BiH. The rule of law and enforcement procedures must be implemented. The decision made is not sufficient for the activation of MAP, but it is a step towards fulfilling the conditions from Tallinn - stated NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo.

NATO Headquarters once again reminded that the registration of 57 prospective immovable military locations as the property of BiH remains the only condition for the activation of MAP.

- Allies are closely monitoring developments and welcome progress in registering immovable military property to BiH. At the same time, they want to see leaders in BiH accelerate efforts to meet the conditions set by NATO foreign ministers in Tallinn in April 2010 so that the Membership Action Plan for BiH can be activated as soon as possible - it was announced from NATO Headquarters.

We remind you that the Constitutional Court of BiH yesterday rejected as unfounded the appeal of Republika Srpska filed against the verdicts of the Court of BiH, which ordered that the military facility "Veliki Žep" in Han Pijesak be registered to BiH.
