SARAJevo, (Patria) - Following a recent request from the Coordination Body of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Protection and Rescue, which organized a major video conference that raised more than 80 million euros in aid during the COVID-19 pandemic, NATO and the US Army have responded by providing rapid assistance to the citizens of BiH.
Representatives of NATO and members of the US Army delivered urgently needed medical supplies and disinfection equipment to the Ministry of Security of BiH. The handover of the donation was attended by Assistant Minister of Security Samir Rizvo, Deputy Commander of the NATO Staff in Sarajevo Brigadier Morten Henriksen, and the Military Attaché of the US Embassy in BiH Michael Tarquinto, the Ministry of Security of BiH announced.
The aid received will be distributed based on the decision of the Council of Ministers of BiH.
As stated by the NATO Staff in Sarajevo, this is just one of a series of donations that the NATO Alliance is providing to the citizens of BiH in response to Bosnia and Herzegovina's request for assistance. They emphasize that in BiH and around the world, NATO allies and partners continue to stand by each other and provide assistance during this pandemic, whether through various NATO arrangements, bilateral aid, or by supporting countries and their efforts in the field of civil protection.
