NATO to keep 300,000 soldiers on high alert in Europe

(Patria) - New-old NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that new NATO military plans include putting 300,000 soldiers in Europe on "high alert".

"We will strengthen our deterrence capability with three new defense plans to counter our main threats – Russia and terrorism. One plan is for the north of the continent and the Atlantic, the second is for central Europe, and the third for the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. Precisely for the implementation of these plans, NATO is putting 300,000 soldiers on alert. On land, at sea, and in the air."

According to him, these plans will be elaborated after the NATO summit in Vilnius, which will be held on July 11 and 12.

It is important to note that the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Josip Brkić, recently met with the Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Pamela McGaha.

On that occasion, McGaha emphasized that the leaders of 31 NATO countries in Vilnius next week will make important decisions that will help guarantee continuous collective security.

"As one of our closest partners, both geographically and in terms of the level of cooperation, it is right that BiH also be at that table," said McGaha.
