Continued growth in tax and contribution revenue collection

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of the Federation of BiH, at today's session in Mostar, accepted the monthly overview of tax and contribution revenue collection in the territory of FBiH for September 2021 and for the first nine months of this year.

In September 2021, the total level of monthly revenue realization from indirect and direct taxes, and social contributions in the Federation of BiH amounted to 700.6 million KM, which is 15.1 percent higher compared to September 2020. In the first nine months of 2021, total revenues from this basis amounted to 5,938.9 million KM and are 11.4 percent higher compared to the same period last year.

Comparing with the total collection in the period from 1.1. to 30.9.2019, before the pandemic, the total realization in the same period of 2021 is higher by 195.9 million KM, and a positive individual trend of movement was recorded in almost every covered revenue category.

The available portion of indirect tax revenue from the Single Account for the budgets of all users in the Federation of BiH, in September 2021, was realized in the total amount of 274.5 million KM, which is 67.7 percent or 110.8 million KM higher compared to the same month in 2020.

Thus, in September 2021, 99.3 million KM was allocated to the FBiH Budget, which is 40.1 million KM more compared to the same month in 2020. The total portion of revenue for allocation to cantonal budgets amounted to 140.6 million KM and is higher by 56.8 million KM. Available indirect tax revenues for allocation to municipal/city budgets amounted to slightly more than 23.1 million KM, which is 9.3 million KM higher compared to August of the previous year.

The portion of indirect tax revenue allocated to road managers amounted to 10.7 million KM and is higher by 4.3 million KM, while the corresponding amount for the City of Sarajevo was 0.7 million KM with an expressed growth of 0.3 million KM.

On a cumulative basis, total available indirect tax revenues amounted to slightly more than 2,227.5 million KM and are higher by 20 percent or by 370.9 million KM compared to the same period in 2020.

When we look at the comparison with 2019, the total amount of available indirect tax revenues in the first nine months of 2021 also shows a positive trend with a growth of 1.4 percent or 31 million KM.

The total collection of revenues from mandatory social contributions in September 2021 amounted to 327.1 million KM and is lower by 7.9 percent or by 28.2 million KM compared to September 2020.

On a cumulative basis, the collection of mandatory social contributions continues to record a stable positive trend. Total collected revenues in the period January-September 2021 amount to slightly more than 2,839 million KM and are higher by 154.1 million KM compared to the same period in 2020.

Compared to the realization from the same period in 2019, the cumulative collection of contributions in 2021 is higher by 135.6 million KM.
