(Patria) - By showcasing a selection of films from the Arab world in the program of this year's, 26th Sarajevo Film Festival, the cooperation between the Sarajevo Film Festival and the Doha Film Institute continues. This cooperation has been ongoing for eight years, in the form of a two-way partnership.
The Doha Film Institute (DFI) is an independent and non-profit cultural institution founded in 2010. The Institute supports the development of the local film community by advancing professional knowledge, nurturing a love for film, and contributing to the development of self-sustaining creative industries in Qatar.
The Institute's activities include financing and producing local, regional, and international films, educational programs, film screenings, and the organization of the Ajyal Film Festival and Qumra – an initiative aimed at providing mentorship and practical work opportunities for filmmakers from Qatar and around the world.
Primarily focused on culture, community development, education, and entertainment, the Institute serves as the film industry hub in Doha, as well as a regional and global film resource center. DFI is committed to Qatar's vision of becoming a knowledge-based economy by 2030.
The selected films will be presented within the Partner Presents program of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival on the online platform ondemand.sff.ba.
