Debate on the Draft Budget of the Federation of BiH for 2016 Continues: There Will Be a Lot of Money, but Only a Small Part Goes to Development

The debate on the Draft Budget of the Federation of BiH for 2016 will continue today in the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament, after Prime Minister Fadil Novalić explained last night how the Government plans to spend just over 2.5 billion KM in the coming year, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The Federation's budget for 2016, although larger than the previous year, cannot have a development component. It will not have one in 2017 either. Relief can be expected in 2018.

- Unless we take on additional debt – Novalić said last night before the representatives in Parliament.

Such a distribution of the FBiH budget, which the opposition claims is catastrophic, Novalić justifies by the fact that out of the planned 2.5 billion KM budget, more than one billion KM must go to debt repayment next year, and close to a billion will be needed for current obligations.

The Federation of BiH will have to pay banks 123 million KM in interest alone next year.

Practically, not much money is left for investment in development.

Novalić claims that the economy of the Federation of BiH, despite all the burdens, can achieve good progress, writes NAP.
