As part of the operational action "Mreža", police teams of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton are conducting searches at 24 locations. The operation began early this morning, with the majority of searches taking place in the area of Zenica. Searches are also being conducted at one location in Kakanj, Travnik, and Sarajevo.
The operation is being carried out in cooperation with the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and is aimed at detecting and prosecuting an organized group suspected of committing criminal offenses of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs, and illegal possession of weapons or explosives, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton announced.
- This operation represents a continuation of the "Mreža" operation, which was carried out in May 2016, during which dozens of searches were conducted, a number of suspects were deprived of liberty, and significant quantities of narcotic substances, illegal weapons, money, and other items originating from criminal offenses were seized. Activities within the "Mreža" operation are being undertaken in cooperation with the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, and excellent cooperation has been established with the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, as well as the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Central Bosnia Canton and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton - stated the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
