Domestic Violence: Four Murders of Children by Parents in BiH in Several Months!

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, monstrous murders of children by their own parents are occurring more frequently, alarming the public and clearly indicating that society needs change, writes the Patria news agency.

Psychologists warn that the family is key to progress and the foundation for the future. Jasmina Dizdarević, a prominent psychologist from Sarajevo, told the Patria news agency earlier that lawlessness has taken hold and that the law is no longer what it once was, because people no longer fear sanctions for their actions, knowing they will get off easily and that human life has become worthless.

I think we have failed in every sense, from family, society, work, neighborhood, etc. We have lost all the human values that once made us human, namely empathy for others, listening to others, and the need for tolerance, says Dizdarević.

Patria recalls all the monstrous murders of children that have shocked the public.

DROWNED A CHILD

Twenty-one-year-old Mevlida Mujić from the village of Fojhari, Srebrenica municipality, residing in Vogošća, killed and threw a baby into a container on Wilson's Promenade on June 8 this year. After the autopsy of the baby's body, it was determined that death occurred when an unknown person, later identified as Mujić, tied a cloth around the baby's neck and thus strangled it.

BRUTAL MURDER OF A FOUR-YEAR-OLD

In Hadžići near Sarajevo, in February 2014, four-year-old Smajo Ćesir was brutally murdered. At the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, Salih Arnautović, the stepfather of the unfortunate boy, Ena Lipa, mother of the murdered Smajo, and Munira and Emir Lipa, who are charged with participating in the murder of four-year-old Smajo Ćesir, are on trial for this murder and child abuse. Neighbors said the murdered boy closely resembled his father and believed that his stepfather hated him from the very beginning because of this and always mistreated him.

MOTHER DEFENDS THE MURDERER!

Semir Velagić (26) from Gornja Slapnica near Kakanj is accused of committing the criminal act of domestic violence, which resulted in the death of his two-year-old stepson Ajnur Smolo. The unfortunate boy succumbed in the hospital to injuries inflicted, apparently, through abuse, although the family claimed it was a "fall onto a concrete surface." To make matters worse, Ajnur's mother Nejra defends her husband and claims that he did not kill her son, but that the unfortunate boy fell and hit his head.

KILLED A CHILD BECAUSE IT WAS CRYING

Eldar Leđen (21) was arrested and is suspected of murdering his four-month-old son, who died on Saturday, November 29, due to severe head injuries. The case of the murder of a four-month-old baby horrified the public in BiH, and Leđen, according to police sources, told inspectors that on Saturday he was watching his son while his wife was at work. He wanted to feed the child, but the child refused to eat and was crying. This irritated him, so he threw the baby onto an armchair. However, the armchair had wooden armrests, and the child hit its head and lost consciousness. According to his statement, he tried to give the child artificial respiration and washed its face, but the child did not respond. He called his wife and allegedly only told her that the child was not well.
