Our Party: Let SDA pay its debts with its own money, not with citizens' health

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton today dismissed Mehmed Kulić, director of the Sarajevo Canton Health Centers, and appointed Muhamed Ahmić in his place. The Caucus of Deputies of Our Party in the KS Assembly reacted to this occasion.

"We want to remind that Our Party has called to account a number of people managing healthcare in Sarajevo Canton during the crisis: Rusmir Mesihović, Sebija Izetbegović, Aida Pilav, Edo Selimić, and even Mehmed Kulić, who was dismissed today. The entire crisis management in the healthcare of Sarajevo Canton has proven inadequate for the prevention and suppression of the coronavirus epidemic. However, we oppose the motives for which Mehmed Kulić was dismissed. With this dismissal, the authorities want to create the illusion for citizens that they are taking care of the health system in the Canton, while in fact, SDA is repaying a debt to BOSS for overthrowing the KS Government led by Edin Forto.

The newly appointed director, Muhamed Ahmić, is a BOSS cadre. We remind that the Health Centers came to the state they are in today precisely during the time when BOSS managed them. They were brought to the point of not having reagents for biochemical analysis for months. This is not the time for make-up exams, and we do not want even a minimum of risk when it comes to managing any health institution. It is high time that healthcare be depoliticized and that people with the highest reputation in health management be appointed to leading positions. In addition to experts in leading positions of health institutions, we expect the recommendations of professionals to be heard, and not for them to be removed from their jobs due to constructive criticism, as is the case with Dr. Stevanović. We call on SDA to pay its debts to coalition partners with its own money, not with citizens' health," stated Our Party.
