Naša stranka: HDZ BiH used Aluminij as its credit card

(Patria) - Regarding this morning's fifteen-minute blockade of the M-17 road by employees of Aluminij Mostar, as well as announcements that this once Herzegovinian economic giant could cease operations by the end of the week, Naša stranka Mostar has issued a statement.

“HDZ BiH is primarily responsible for the situation at Aluminij, as it has been using the company as its own credit card for decades. In addition to them, their coalition partner and the Federation Government, which has allowed such a mode of operation all this time, cannot be absolved of responsibility.

The peak of hypocrisy of the HDZ/SDA partners towards the citizens of Mostar is also the blockade of the Federation Parliament, at whose last session, among other things, at the initiative of colleagues from SDP, Aluminij was supposed to be discussed.

The downfall of Aluminij is the ultimate proof of the inability and ill intentions of the current government in the Federation to be any kind of employer and manager.

We will always support every individual in this country whose rights are threatened and who is fighting to get answers and find a solution to the situation they are in, but in this case, it seems to us that the right address for seeking answers is the headquarters of HDZ and the FBiH government, and certainly not the blockade of the M-17 road.”

In this regard, we call on the Prime Minister of the Federation to explain what happened to the recommendations from the study conducted in 2013 by the University of Split, in cooperation with 17 experts from Zagreb, Mostar, and Split, titled 'Possibilities of Restructuring Aluminij d.d. Mostar'. Why were the recommendations not implemented and why was an adequate ownership, organizational, operational, financial, and strategic restructuring of Aluminij never carried out?” – said Tarik Tanović, president of the City Committee of Naša stranka Mostar.
