SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, the initiative of the Our Party - Independent Bloc club was adopted, instructing the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina to, within three months of the adoption of this Initiative, submit to the legislative procedure a Proposal for amendments to the Law on Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will enable and regulate the stay of digital nomads in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The NS-NB club emphasizes the importance of this initiative:
"By establishing this system for digital nomads, economic growth in Bosnia and Herzegovina would be stimulated, and a significant number of tourists would be attracted. A digital nomad is a citizen of a third country who is employed or performs work for a company that is not registered in the territory of the country in which they reside. Opening up to individuals who do not perform work and do not provide services to employers in our country would certainly increase business tourism, and thus economic activity.
Countries such as Estonia, Iceland, the Czech Republic, and others have enabled the stay of tens of thousands of these, usually highly educated, individuals on their territory, thereby significantly contributing to strengthening their economies. The Republic of Croatia also did this recently, and the entire process took less than five months. By accepting this initiative, the story is not over yet, but we hope that all those who voted for it have a genuine desire for this initiative to come to life and that they have only shown readiness for the economic, tourist, and cultural opening of BiH," said the Our Party - Independent Bloc club.
