Our Wonderful Herzegovina: The Abyss of Emerald Green Color from the Air

(Patria) - In search of Herzegovinian karst springs, photographer Boris Trogrančić captured an unrealistically beautiful scene - the spring of the Jasenica river in the settlement of Rodoč near Mostar.

- The beauty emerging from the abyss is emerald green, and its depth has reportedly never been measured. Numerous legends circulate about this spring.

The mystery is that no one reliably knows where the bottom is, so it got the name Bezdan (Abyss) - reveals Boris about the popular bathing spot.

"When I reached the oasis on Herzegovinian stone, hidden in trees and undergrowth, besides the chirping of birds and the murmur of water, an incredible view of the Velež mountain awaited me.

Interestingly, in the summer of 2015, a team from the Discovery Channel visited this place as part of the Balkan Cave Summit.

That year, Mostar attracted divers from 15 European countries who explored underwater caves at numerous locations: Buna, Bunica, Crno oko, Crno vrelo, Jasenica - Bezdan, Kajtazovina, and Vrioštica.

During that time, the world champion diver Krzysztof Starnawski stayed in Mostar, who in 2011, by diving to a depth of 283 meters, broke the world record in deep diving," added Trogrančić.

Boris's photographs are a vivid reminder of how rich Bosnia and Herzegovina is in natural beauty, as well as that we should do our best to preserve and protect it from destruction, writes Punkufer.hr.
