Due to extremely low temperatures that have hit Sarajevo, the Municipality of Stari Grad, in cooperation with the Stari Grad Soup Kitchen, has decided to offer a meal and a warm place for meals to everyone who needs it, it was announced from the Municipality, reports Patria News Agency.
According to the manager of the kitchen, Zilha Šeta, better known to the public as Tetka Zilha, everyone who needs a free meal and tea is welcome.
- In agreement with the mayor Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, starting tomorrow at 08:00 AM, anyone who knocks on our door will receive warm tea, a cooked meal, bread, and a kind word in our warm premises. I emphasize that this person does not have to be a registered user of our kitchen, no one will be hungry and frozen here with us - said Tetka.
The Stari Grad Soup Kitchen is located in the heart of Baščaršija, on Halači street. The Municipality of Stari Grad has been supporting the work of the Stari Grad Soup Kitchen for many years; last year, it allocated a grant of 40,000 KM for its normal functioning.
The "Stari Grad" Soup Kitchen was founded in 1992 and at that time was the first of its kind in the area of the city of Sarajevo and today's Canton of Sarajevo.
