Old Town Soup Kitchen to accept korban meat only with proof of its safety

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The management of the "Stari Grad" Soup Kitchen in Sarajevo informs all donors of korban meat that during the first two days of the upcoming Kurban Bayram, the premises of this kitchen at Halači 6 Street in Baščaršija will be accepting meat donations.

On Tuesday, August 21, 2018 (the first day of Kurban Bayram), meat reception will be organized from 10 AM to 6 PM.

On the second day of Kurban Bayram, August 22, 2018 (Wednesday), meat reception will be organized between 8 AM and 8 PM.

- All donors who bring their korban meat donation to the "Stari Grad" Soup Kitchen are asked to present documentation on the meat's safety upon handing over the meat. Without valid documentation, the aforementioned donation will not be accepted, as this is the only way to control the safety of the donated meat. Buyers of korban must obtain a certificate of veterinary inspection from the person who sold them the korban.

Also, the management of this kitchen reminds again that due to high summer temperatures, they are only accepting whole korban animals without small pieces of meat or offal, which is a recommendation from the cantonal sanitary and veterinary services. Citizens are asked to respect these recommendations.
