Framework Budget Document to be Presented to the Council of Ministers Next Week

(Patria) - The Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH is working on the Framework Budget Document (DOB) for the period 2022-2024, and as we have been unofficially confirmed, this document should be presented to the Council of Ministers of BiH next week, after which, following legal procedures, the budget of BiH institutions for 2022 will be prepared.

If this dynamic is followed, it is possible that, as announced by Minister Bisera Turković, the state budget will be prepared by April 25.

The Council of Ministers of BiH, which adopts the Draft Budget, submits it to the constitutional proposer, the Presidency of BiH, which then forwards it to the parliamentary procedure.

The final word in this entire process belongs to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, where the Law on the Budget of BiH Institutions and International Obligations of BiH for 2022 is adopted.

The adoption of the budget and the entire procedure should be completed by mid-May, given that the General Elections will be called at the beginning of May, and financial resources must be secured 15 days after the announcement. BiH adopted its last budget for 2020 at the end of July that year, and the entire 2021 and three months of 2022 passed with decisions on temporary financing.
