(Patria) - After six days of round-the-clock fighting by fire services against fires in the Trebinje area, today is finally a calmer and more stable day.
The Head of the Emergency Situations Staff of Trebinje, Stevan Bekan, told BHRT that the fire above the village of Jasen, on the slopes of Leotar, is still active, but it is under control.
According to him, a helicopter is extinguishing the fire in that area because it is inaccessible terrain.
Bekan adds that standby teams of firefighters have been organized at several locations where there were fires, to be on alert in case of renewed fire activity.
