(Patria) - Iran has accused the United States and Israel of attacking Iran's nuclear facility in Natanz, while the country was celebrating Eid al-Fitr, in the fourth week of a war with no end in sight. The intention to remove the Iranian nuclear threat has been publicly stated as a goal by US President Donald Trump since the beginning of the offensive on February 28.
"After the criminal attacks on our country, carried out by the United States and the usurping Zionist regime, this morning the uranium enrichment complex in Natanz was targeted," announced the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, adding that "no radioactive material leakage was reported" in the area.
Iran has informed the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, about the attack, who called for "military restraint to avoid any risk of nuclear accident." When asked by AFP, the Israeli army responded that it "has no knowledge of any attack" on Natanz.
Iran had already accused the United States and Israel of attacking this site in early March when the conflict began. Western nations suspect that the Islamic Republic wants to acquire nuclear weapons, which Iran denies.
