An unidentified man attacked the US Ambassador to South Korea early Thursday morning in Seoul, inflicting serious but not life-threatening facial injuries.
The US Ambassador to South Korea, 42-year-old Mark Lippert, was attacked in Seoul while attending a working breakfast at a forum held in the South Korean capital, a forum participant told Reuters agency.
The unknown man attacked Lippert with a sharp object, causing several cuts to his face. The US Ambassador, covered in blood, was taken to the hospital, and the White House announced that his injuries were not life-threatening.
