Sarajevo Residents Can Report Stray Dog Attacks on Emergency Lines

Acting in accordance with the Conclusion of the Government of Sarajevo Canton of September 11 .2014, the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs of Sarajevo Canton has activated additional telephone lines for emergency reporting of stray dog attacks to remove dangerous, aggressive, and sick stray dogs in the Sarajevo Canton area.

During the period from 08:00 to 16:00, citizens of Sarajevo Canton can submit reports by calling the citizens' reporting hotline 033 770-156. In addition to this number, mobile numbers 061 145-508 and 061 160-926 will also be active from 08:00 to 22:00.

The stray dog attack reporting form can also be downloaded from the portal of the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs (http://kuip.ks.gov.ba/) in the "Forms" category. The completed form can also be sent via the Administration's official email[email protected].

Upon receiving a report of a dog attack, cantonal veterinary inspectors will issue an order for the capture of the aggressive dog to the hygiene services for stray dog capture, which are part of KJKP “Rad” and JP "LOKOM" d.o.o. During the dog capture operation, in addition to inspectors and hygiene service employees, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton will also be present. After capture, aggressive dogs will undergo veterinary treatment or euthanasia at local veterinary clinics.

The harmless removal of carcasses will be carried out by employees of KJKP “Rad” at the sanitary landfill in Smiljevići, also under the supervision of a cantonal veterinary inspector.
