The Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton arrested last night the attacker on Elio Tauber, advisor for culture and religion of the Jewish community in BiH, who has been reported since 2011 for six criminal offenses, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

As stated today at a press conference of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, A.F. (born 1967) has been reported since 2011 for attempted murder, minor and serious bodily harm, indecent acts, illegal possession of weapons and explosives, and damage to another's property. He is undergoing criminal investigation, after which he will be handed over to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, which charges the arrested person under the Law on Misdemeanors against Public Order and Peace.

However, Irfan Nefić, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, stated that the Prosecutor's Office may reclassify the offense after completing the entire event.

The motive for the attack was confirmed by Tauber himself, stating that it could be a dispute with a crafts shop owner in Baščaršija, where he had seen the attacker.
