Knife attack in Russia: At least eight injured

A man today attacked passers-by and randomly stabbed them with a knife in the Russian city of Surgut, Russian media report.
At least eight people were injured in the attack, and Russian officials confirmed that the police killed the attacker.

A statement from the Russian Investigative Committee stated that an as yet unknown person attacked passers-by with a knife in the city of Surgut.

At least eight people were injured on that occasion, and the police neutralized the attacker.

Following the knife attack, security measures have been increased in the city, and a detailed investigation has been launched into the attack.
