
(Patria) - Russia's capital Moscow was attacked by drones tonight.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that air defence forces shot down a total of nine aircraft, and later two more. Residents of the Moscow region heard explosions on the approach to the city, and according to initial information reported by Russian media, there are no injuries or significant material damage.
More than 35 flights were cancelled and postponed at Moscow's Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo airports in the evening due to the attack by Ukrainian drones. The operation of Sheremetyevo airport was temporarily suspended.
"By 8:19 PM Moscow time, 21 flights were delayed and another cancelled at Sheremetyevo. Nine delays and two cancellations were recorded at Domodedovo, and four flights were delayed at Vnukovo," Russian media reported.
Footage appeared on social media showing passenger planes flying low over buildings in Moscow.
