At a press conference in the Palace of the Republic in Banja Luka, RS President Milorad Dodik confirmed that he has returned the Law on Police and Internal Affairs to the National Assembly for reconsideration, reports the Patria news agency.
The President of Republika Srpska stated today that he returned the law on police and internal affairs to the NSRS for reconsideration due to the request of Bosniaks to include a provision referring to the 1991 census in this law, as well as in all others.
Dodik stated that this cannot be resolved in such a way because it is not in line with the Dayton Agreement, which is why he demands that it be changed. He announced that he will form an advisory group to advise him on how to remove that qualification - the 1991 census - from the Constitution.
The RS President assessed that this requires consensus among all in Republika Srpska, which could be achieved in the future, as it is important to eliminate political ultimatums from the Bosniak side.
He believes that he will receive support for his request in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, RTRS reported.
