
(Patria) - At the initiative of Chile, 107 countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressed support for United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres after the Israeli Foreign Minister declared him a "persona non grata".
This collective support, expressed in the form of a letter, comes at a time when intensive diplomatic efforts are needed to stop the violence in Gaza and prevent further escalation of the conflict.
The 107 countries that signed are: Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Chad, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cyprus, Denmark, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, France, Gambia, Greece, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Iceland, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Samoa, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Somalia, South Africa, Spain, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Suriname, Sweden, Sao Tome and Principe, Tanzania, Tajikistan, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, UAE, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Yemen, Zimbabwe.
Of the Western Balkan countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Montenegro, as well as Slovenia, provided support, while Albania and Serbia were absent.
Croatia also did not support the letter, nor did the USA and Australia.
