After Paris attacks, a Slovenian tried to burn the Quran in front of the Slovenian Parliament

Slovenian Boris Britovšek yesterday attempted to burn the holy book of the Quran in front of the Slovenian Parliament, but was prevented by the police, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

Britovšek attempted to burn the Quran after terrorists in Paris killed nearly 130 and wounded hundreds more.

The Islamic Community in Slovenia is outraged by the move Britovšek decided to make. They demand that the competent authorities in Slovenia carry out all necessary procedures and sanction such acts, as it is contrary to the principles of a free society and democracy.

- We are concerned about the increased hatred towards Islam and Muslims in Slovenia, which has been spreading for a long time and is fueled by certain Slovenian media - announced the Islamic Community in Slovenia.

- We expect those responsible to initiate proceedings that will stop the spread of hatred and intolerance in Slovenia - the statement reads.

The Islamic Community in Slovenia warns that it is unjustified to blame only Muslims for extremism. They are concerned about the silence of responsible people in Slovenia, writes NAP.
