After attack on Saja Ćorić: When the victim leaves the courtroom, they become nobody's concern

The Association "Women-Victims of War" Sarajevo strongly condemns the attack on the president of the Association "Sumeja Gerc" from Mostar, Saja Ćorić, reports the Patria News Agency.  

-Physical attacks, intimidation, and destruction of private property of those engaged in human rights protection represent a serious violation of the peace and stabilization process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We demand that the Court, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, and the Witness Protection Unit, given that Saja Ćorić was a witness in war crimes cases, find the perpetrators, arrest them, and prosecute them.

-My dear Sajo, we have endured worse. They cannot kill the truth with which we live, sleep, and wake up every day. Hold your head high, proud and defiant as I know you to be. This is that famous Witness Protection Law. We are needed by the court while we are in the courtroom, and when we leave, we become nobody's concern, says the president of the Association "Women-Victims of War", Bakira Hasečić.

Three days ago, in the Potoci settlement in Mostar, an unknown perpetrator or perpetrators set fire to the vehicle of Saja Ćorić, president of the Women's Association "Sumeja Gerc", which cares for victims of rape and other forms of wartime abuse of women.

Saja Ćorić is also the sister of the former president of the Mostar City Council - Murat Ćorić.

Saja Ćorić told the media that she does not want to even consider that this pyromaniac act is connected to her work in protecting women affected by the horrors of war.

Incidentally, Saja Ćorić was one of the witnesses for the Prosecutor's Office of BiH at the trial of Dragan Šunjić, for crimes committed in Vojno near Mostar.
