SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Journalist of the portal Nova.rs Ana Lalić was detained on Wednesday evening at the Police Department in Novi Sad for 48 hours on suspicion that she could repeat the criminal offense of publishing texts that cause panic and disorder, confirmed lawyer Srđan Kovačević, who said that no hearing was held, writes that portal, as reported by CdM.
Nova.rs published a text titled “KC Vojvodine on the verge of bursting: No protection for nurses” in which Lalić stated that KCV has a problem with “a chronic shortage of basic equipment and completely chaotic working conditions during the pandemic.”
The Clinical Center of Vojvodina reacted regarding the text, informing the prosecutor's office and the police, and accused the journalist of disturbing the public with yesterday's text and damaging the reputation of that health institution.
The police came for the journalist last night, searched the apartment, and confiscated a laptop and two mobile phones, the lawyer reported.
This is the second case of arrest of media workers during the state of emergency.
The KTV crew from Zrenjanin was arrested on March 26 on charges that they "did not disinfect themselves."
