
SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina continued extinguishing a fire near Mostar on Sunday, April 12, after which it was dispatched to a fire site near Konjic.
The crew of the UH-1H helicopter from the 2nd Helicopter Squadron of the Air Force and Air Defense Brigade of the BiH Armed Forces continued extinguishing a fire in the Livča zone near Mostar from 08:30 hours this morning. After one hour of flight, they dropped five buckets of water and returned to the Mostar Ortiješ airport for refueling.
While performing the first task, they received an emergency call from the Civil Protection of Konjic for assistance in extinguishing a fire near Kostajnica, in the Konjic municipality.
At 10:30 hours, the helicopter took off to carry out this new task. In two hours of flight, 16 buckets of water were dropped on the fire site. In the afternoon, firefighting continues at the original location in the Mostar municipality.
Members of the 2nd Helicopter Squadron of the Air Force and Air Defense Brigade of the BiH Armed Forces from the Rajlovac barracks, during the COVID-19 pandemic, used UH-1H helicopters to extinguish fires near Drvar on March 19, near Tuzla on April 8, and on the same day with another helicopter in the area of the Prozor municipality, where they continued extinguishing on April 9 and 10, the Ministry of Defense of BiH announced.
In the Mostar area, they have been extinguishing since Friday, April 10.
All flights are conducted with all necessary safety measures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
