After arrest and expulsion decision: Unexplained entry of Elma Đušinac into BiH

A decision has been made to expel Elma Đušinac (21) from Bosnia and Herzegovina with a five-year ban on entering our country. The only remaining possibility for the practical implementation of this decision is her right to appeal. Namely, Elma Đušinac has Serbian citizenship, so she will be handed over to Serbia, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Media in the neighboring country reported, according to sources from their Ministry of Internal Affairs, that Đušinac is an Islamic State courier and that she was tasked with recruiting women for the Islamic State. Furthermore, the media added that Đušinac was trained for suicide terrorist attacks.

Đušinac was arrested in Kalesija shortly after entering Bosnia and Herzegovina, based on an order from the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs. It remains unexplained under what circumstances all this happened with Elma Đušinac. Her border crossing is suspicious, to say the least.

More precisely, Đušinac crossed the border on November 22, and then just three days later, on November 25, she was arrested based on an order from the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Therefore, the question is how and why the Serbian border service allowed a person whom they had officially declared as a dangerous terrorist threat to pass.

If her activities were known in advance, and not just discovered recently, why did the Serbian police not arrest her on their territory? Why did they let her enter BiH unimpeded, and then urgently send an arrest warrant for her?

The questions also concern the general level of security and cooperation in the fight against terrorism at the regional level. Is this fight genuine or in the service of daily political needs?

Her husband, Enes Mešić, who was previously arrested in the Damascus operation and then released, was arrested and released along with her, writes Patria.
