Task Force for Combating Terrorism Meets After a Long Time

(Patria) - After a long time, the Task Force for Combating Terrorism will meet today at the BiH Prosecutor's Office. The directors of all police agencies with Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić last met on June 14, 2019. The Chief Prosecutor chairs the meeting of the Task Force, which is attended by representatives of prosecutorial, police, and security institutions at the level of BiH, both entities, and Brčko District of BiH.

At the last meeting, activities implemented by law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism and the threat of terrorist activities were presented. Also, at the meeting, representatives of BiH institutions spoke about the necessary measures in the coming period related to the prosecution of returnees from foreign battlefields, whose arrival in BiH is expected in the coming months.

The meeting also discussed potential threats of terrorism that may be related to the influx of illegal migrants into BiH.
The Task Force for Combating Terrorism and strengthening the capacity to combat terrorism meets periodically so that officials from all law enforcement agencies have the opportunity to analyze the situation in this area and plan and coordinate joint activities that will lead to a reduction in the threat of terrorism and strengthening the rule of law and security in BiH.

The implementation of activities to detect and prevent potential threats of terrorism and participation in international operations and activities to combat terrorism were the central topics of the meeting of the Task Force for Combating Terrorism held in Sarajevo.

A working meeting of the Task Force for Combating Terrorism was held at the BiH Prosecutor's Office, chaired by the acting Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, Gordana Tadić, and attended by officials from judicial, police, and security agencies at the level of BiH, entities, and Brčko District of BiH.

The meeting discussed activities carried out by law enforcement agencies in BiH in combating terrorism and activities that may be related to terrorism, as well as the detection and prevention of phenomena that threaten security from the perspective of combating terrorism.

One of the topics of the meeting concerned activities that BiH is implementing in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolution in combating terrorism and terrorist activities. Also, at the meeting, the importance of the participation of law enforcement agencies in BiH in international operations aimed at combating terrorism, in which BiH actively participates, was emphasized.
