Largest aid convoy departed from Bosnia and Herzegovina for Syria this morning

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A humanitarian aid convoy weighing around 600 tons departed from Doboj Istok for Syria today in a convoy stretching five hundred meters.

This is the largest aid convoy sent so far by the International Forum of Solidarity - EMMAUS to the people of Syria and, by all accounts, the largest convoy ever delivered from Bosnia and Herzegovina to a country in need, EMMAUS announced.

The aid was collected in a very short period by the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina to show their solidarity with the people of war-torn Syria for the sixth time.

In the past months, MFS-EMMAUS organized the aid collection campaign in cooperation with the bodies of the Islamic Community, specifically with the Muftiates of Tuzla, Zenica, Travnik, and Mostar.

Part of the aid was provided by "Limorad" doo Gračanica, "Variplast" doo Gračanica, "Baupartner" doo, the municipality of Doboj - Jug, the municipality of Kladanj, ZZ "Gračanka" Gračanica, "Zedina" doo Doboj Istok, "KISMET" doo Doboj Istok, "CLK Interpromet" Doboj Istok, "DMDE"; Doboj Istok.

Part of the transportation costs were covered by the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees, the Government of TK, and the Turkish organization IHH.

As before, the convoy will be accompanied by several employees of MFS-EMMAUS and representatives of the muftiates from the areas where the flour was collected, all with the aim of providing feedback to the citizens who participated in this campaign and to justify their trust.

The convoy is expected to arrive at the Turkish-Syrian border in the city of Reyhanli between April 23rd and 25th.

In previous aid campaigns, MFS-EMMAUS has sent 53 trucks with 1280 tons of humanitarian aid consisting of food and hygiene products.

In addition to food products, three shipping containers of clothing and footwear have also been sent so far.
