Biggest money laundering in BiH: Due to threats and attacks, a Bosniak closed his betting shops in his hometown

Amendments to the Law on Games of Chance and the Law on Profit Tax in the Federation of BiH are not moving forward. Relations between coalition partners SDA and HDZ BiH are strained. They have different views on taxation. SDA proposes that tax be paid in the municipality, i.e., the cantons where the betting shops are located, while HDZ BiH wants tax payment to be at the headquarters, i.e., the central offices of the betting shops, which are mostly located in Herzegovina, writes the Patria news agency.

Betting shop owners will achieve a profit of one billion marks this year. The largest number of betting shops come from western Herzegovina, which is governed by HDZ BiH. It is an open secret that betting shops are one of the biggest financiers of HDZ.

How Suljo and Mujo cleaned out pockets

The session of the Parliament of the Federation on games of chance began on April 20, but was abruptly interrupted, so the agenda was not even adopted. An attempt was made to continue on May 11, then on May 17. But it did not succeed. It will not succeed either, because this is the largest and most organized robbery of money from the pockets of BiH citizens that has ever occurred in these areas.

This is the biggest money laundering in BiH, because it is obvious that money is being hidden from the state. How to put a stop to it? The Bosniak political pacesetters do not know, so they are powerless to do anything honest for both the citizens and the state?

Just as Dragan Čović recently said:

-I have an aversion to games of chance. I have never entered a betting shop. I do not believe in that form of life wealth.

It was expected that Čović would add: -I got rich in a completely different way.

Of course, the poor bet, which these SDA people certainly do not, so they take all steps superficially, because the problem does not affect them too much.

A source of Patria is a Bosniak, who for understandable reasons requested anonymity, who some time ago opened betting shops at several locations in the center of his hometown.

Soon he experienced threats, provocations while driving, tire punctures and damage to the car body, etc. Frequent riots and even physical attacks on those present began to occur in his betting shops. Since it was peaceful in all other betting shops, he concluded that these were "actions" by the competition. Soon, under constant pressure, he gave up and closed the business. He says to Patria:

-Betting shops everywhere in the world bring enormous profit. Namely, that profit exceeds ninety percent of the stake. When talking about the most profitable businesses, bookmaking is one, explains our source.

-In Europe, it was considered that there is no more profitable business than that of insurance companies. It was considered that insurers have up to 85 percent of the invested amount. That was the case until profits from betting shops started arriving. People bet on the results of football matches, on goals, total goals, and they do not know what the real loss is, and what the profit is in those predictions. The profit at the European level says it all, and it ranges between 3 and 7 percent of the stake. So, in an average of 96 percent of cases, the money goes to the owners. Our football predictors should be convinced that they do not know more about football than Europeans – adds the interlocutor.

Playing against the computer

Football betting in BiH was not a serious problem until recently. Another, far more efficient method of sucking out money appeared. The revenues of betting shops have become 15 to 20 times higher since they started dealing with the computer game bingo. Namely, this game literally devastates players' money. It is about computer bingo.

-Every programmer and software expert knows that the computer is programmed to give winnings according to the amount of the stake. Every fool knows that, except the players of this new game who are persistent and do not give up until they go to their families broke.

There are too many addicts of "computer bingo". Many families have gone bankrupt. Sarajevo betting shops are packed with computer bingo players. How much profit from the stake do computers allow players, we ask our interlocutor?

-I don't know how much that is. But, let the players themselves see what they invest and what they get in return – he tells us enigmatically, and then suddenly bursts into loud laughter.

To our question what he laughed at, the interlocutor says:

-In the coming years, jokes about Mujo and Suljo will be born in betting shops. And the beginning will always be: Suljo and Mujo came out of the betting shop and grabbed their pockets...
