SARAJEVO, (Patria) - German police have detained the most famous climate activist Greta Thunberg at a demonstration in the west German village of Lützerath.
Thunberg joined thousands of other activists and demonstrators who participated in protests against the destruction of a German village over the weekend, CNN reports.
Activists are protesting the demolition of the village due to the expansion of a lignite mine.
The protests have been ongoing for days.
Speaking on N1 television's Newsroom, DW journalist Srećko Matić said that Greta Thunberg had been there for several days protesting.
"Today was a turbulent day. Activists changed their strategy and had several actions, they blocked the railway line over which RWE transported coal, then they blocked the entrance to the Ministry of Economy because the minister is from the Green Party, after that they blocked the entrance to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and complained about the police's actions," Matić added.
