More than 88,000 residents of the city of Fort McMurray in Canada, in the province of Alberta, have left their homes and their city due to a devastating wildfire. Approximately 1,600 buildings and houses have burned in the city and surrounding area.
Canada has never seen such a catastrophic wildfire. The firestorm is spreading at an incredible speed. A massive smoke plume covering 76 square kilometers is visible from satellites. The fate of the city remains uncertain, and the next 24 hours are considered crucial. No casualties have been reported so far.
