Award-winning drama play 'Hedda Gabler' on the stage of the National Theatre on Friday

(Patria) - The multi-award-winning play "Hedda Gabler", based on the text by Norwegian writer Henrik Ibsen, directed by Nermin Hamzagić, will be performed on Friday, March 29, on the stage of the National Theatre, starting at 7:30 PM.

The play features: Mona Muratović, Ermin Sijamija, Aldin Omerović, Vedran Đekić, Jasna Diklić, and Belma Salkunić-Bektešević.

The dramatic text "Hedda Gabler" by Norwegian writer and playwright Henrik Ibsen is one of the most complex, yet most skillfully written texts in the history of world dramatic literature, and the character of Hedda Gabler, according to critics, is one of the most complex and intriguing.

"Yearning for the impossible ideal of beauty and dignity, while accepting the banality of life in modern society, Hedda is one of the most unpredictable, exciting, and layered characters ever written.

By writing Hedda Gabler, a psychological drama about a woman trapped in a house, a marriage, and a life she did not want, Ibsen paints a portrait of early industrial society in which technology enabled mass production, but at the same time reshaped social values, so satisfaction is measured by consumption, value is found in competition, and human self-realization is manifested in whether one has successfully fulfilled their social function.

The boundaries of individual freedom are drawn by the lines of social acceptability, and any attempt to deviate represents an attack on the fragile order of social relations," said Nermin Hamzagić and Asja Krsmanović.

Dramaturgy and text adaptation are by Asja Krsmanović, the set designer is Mirna Ler, costume design is entrusted to Irma Saje and Vanja Ciraj, and Thomas Steyaert worked on stage movement and also composed the music.
