LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FOUND SIPA arrested three veterinary inspectors

(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), in cooperation with police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Posavina Canton and the Police of Brčko District of BiH, from early morning (28.9.2020) are carrying out an operational action codenamed "Indi".

The media reveal that the arrested state inspectors are employed in the Veterinary Office of BiH. Around 50,000 euros and 12,000 dollars were found and temporarily confiscated from the arrested.

In the action, three persons were deprived of liberty due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense from Article 220 of the Criminal Code of BiH "Abuse of official position or authority" and Article 217 of the same law "Receiving gifts and other benefits".

Searches are underway at a total of five locations in the areas of Brčko and Orašje, and so far, several mobile phones with SIM cards, an automatic rifle, a large amount of money, and other items that may serve as evidence in criminal proceedings have been temporarily confiscated. After criminal processing at the premises of SIPA, the persons deprived of liberty will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the legal deadline, in coordination with which the mentioned activities were carried out.

More information about the results of the operational action "Indi" will be known after the execution of the orders of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
