Mayor Hadžibajrić presented aid to families of murdered police officers Šehović and Vujinović

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Next month will mark exactly one year since the murder of MUP KS officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović, who were killed while performing regular police activities. Šehović and Vujinović were killed in the early morning hours of October 26, 2018, in the Alipašino Polje neighborhood. Both were long-time, experienced police officers and family men.

Mayor of Stari Grad Municipality Ibrahim Hadžibajrić today received the wives of the fallen police officers Hasena Šehović and Alisa Vujinović, to whom he presented financial aid and told them they were not forgotten. The families of the murdered police officers have continued to live their lives, and nothing can fill the void left by the death of their husbands and fathers. Adis's son graduated from the Police Academy and followed in his father's footsteps, working as a police officer. According to his mother Hasena, when Adis was killed, their son was already at the Academy.

“He dreamed of it from a young age, and regardless of what happened to his father, he says he would do it all the same again. He works in the police today, and his life has changed,” said Hasena.

Davor's wife Alisa was left with two children, aged four and ten. The Municipality of Stari Grad will assist the girl, who is in the fifth grade of elementary school, with her education in the future.

“A year ago, our police officers Adis and Davor were murdered while honorably and honestly performing their duties. Today, I spoke with their families, wanting to show them that they are not alone and forgotten. They left behind three children whom we must take care of. Adis's son is already employed, and starting this school year, we will provide a scholarship for Davor's daughter, who is in elementary school, to ease their burden at least in that way,” Mayor Hadžibajrić stated.

Sadik Ećo, president of the Sarajevo Canton Police Union, also attended the reception today and announced a memorial football tournament in honor of the fallen police officers. The memorial tournament “Adis and Davor” is scheduled to take place on October 26, the day of the police officers' murder, and is expected to feature the participation of around 20 teams from police agencies across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
