Mayor Hadžibajrić Donates ECG Device to Old Town Health Center

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Mayor of Old Town Municipality and Commander of the Civil Protection Staff, Mr. Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, donated an ECG device to the Old Town Health Center, aiming to improve the services provided to patients. The Old Town Health Center had been left without an ECG device due to a malfunction of the existing one, which significantly hindered work with patients. To overcome these problems, a new device was urgently procured.

"After completing the reconstruction of the Old Town Health Center, we decided to assist in equipping this institution as well, within our capabilities. At the same time, a state of disaster and the coronavirus pandemic were declared, and we directed our efforts and resources towards procuring protective equipment to ensure that medical staff could work unimpeded with patients from our municipality. We have allocated over 25,000 KM so far for protective equipment, and since an ECG was also necessary for working with patients, we made an effort to procure that as well," said Mayor Hadžibajrić.

Director Brčkalija thanked for the donation and emphasized that the Old Town Health Center strives to meet all requests and assist patients.

"Since the declaration of the natural disaster, the Old Town Health Center has received 13,291 patients. We are currently receiving emergency cases, doctors are making house calls fully equipped – wearing protective suits, goggles, gloves, masks, and visors. We have formed H teams that go on house calls and take swabs from patients whom our doctors assess need to be tested," said Brčkalija.

"The ECG device we had broke down, and we urgently needed a new one, especially during the coronavirus period when we have many patients who need to be processed quickly," said Dr. Brčkalija, and thanked the municipal mayor for everything he is doing for the Old Town Health Center and its citizens.
