Police station outpost of Stari Grad to open soon on Trebević

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A police station outpost of Stari Grad on Trebević will soon be opened in the building of the arrival station of the Trebević cable car "Ramo Biber".

The Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Ismir Jusko, accompanied by the commander of the First Police Administration of Stari Grad, Safet Šabović, visited the Trebević cable car and the location of the future outpost.

Mayor Skaka had previously agreed with Sarajevo Canton police officials that a police outpost would be opened in the area of the Trebević cable car arrival station with the aim of strengthening the security of citizens and visitors, the City Administration announced.

The City of Sarajevo will technically and materially equip the outpost and hand it over for management to this police administration.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Ismir Jusko, emphasized that this is a very important project in which the police administration and the City of Sarajevo are cooperating.

- I want to emphasize the role of the Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, in the realization of this agreement, and positive steps should be highlighted. More than a million people pass through this area in a year, and the opening of a police outpost is the right response - stated Minister Jusko.

The commander of the First Police Administration, Safet Šabović, says he is happy that the long-standing cooperation with the mayor and the City of Sarajevo is resulting in another project of importance for citizens' safety.

- We recently received a donation of two motorcycles from the City, and with this outpost, we will have all the capacities to respond to our task, to provide security to passengers and visitors of Trebević - added Šabović.

Mayor Skaka expressed his expectation that the outpost will be opened on April 6th of this year.

- We have excellent cooperation with the Sarajevo police, especially with the Stari Grad Police Administration. Since the new Trebević cable car was opened, not a single serious incident has been recorded, and we can thank the preventive actions of the police for that. The presence of law enforcement agencies is also necessary due to the increased volume of visitors, not only from Sarajevo but also tourists from all over the world - stated Mayor Skaka.
