Swedish citizen arrested in Sokolac for murder in Bulevar settlement

(Patria) - On October 31, 2023, at approximately 4:25 PM, in Džemala Bijedića Street, Ilidža municipality, an unknown person used a firearm.

On that occasion, a man (born 1993) was killed, whose death was confirmed at the scene by a doctor from the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service.

A man (born 2001) sustained an injury from the firearm and was transported by ambulance to the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, where he was diagnosed with minor bodily injuries.

Police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, under the supervision of the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, with the presence of a permanent court expert in medical science, conducted an investigation.

Working on documenting and solving the criminal offense of Murder (Article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), police officers determined that the deceased man was H.L.O., born in 1993 in Sweden, a Swedish citizen. The injured man is E.M., born in 2001 in Sweden, a Swedish citizen.

Through operational work, police officers learned that a man, H.O.P. (born 1997), a Swedish citizen, could be linked to the commission of this criminal offense. In cooperation with the East Sarajevo Police Station, H.O.P. was located and deprived of his liberty on October 31, 2023, at approximately 7:30 PM in the area of East Sarajevo, and placed in the official premises of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.

Based on a warrant from the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, a search was conducted of an apartment in the Ilidža municipality area, which was used by the deceased H.L.O.

Police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, under the supervision of the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, continue working on solving and documenting this criminal offense, the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton announced.
