On May 31, white sheets will be placed on the windows of Sarajevo City Hall for 102 murdered children of Prijedor

(Patria) - Today, a reception was held in the office of the Mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić - Londrc, for the delegation of the AntiDayton movement on the occasion of recent activities in Turkey.

On this occasion, the Mayor of Sarajevo wanted to express respect and gratitude for representing the city of Sarajevo, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the most difficult days for the country of Turkey and its people, as well as for humanitarian work directed towards both victims in Turkey and Syria, and towards the orphaned children of Syria.

On this occasion, the reception lasted for more than an hour, during which several proposals for further activities were made and adopted.

- The initiative and proposal of the AntiDayton movement is to hang a large white cloth over the central balcony above the entrance of the City Hall on 05/31/2023, on the occasion of the Day of White Ribbons and the committed genocide in Prijedor. We also expressed our desire and made a proposal to hang white sheets on another 102 windows of the City Hall in memory of all the murdered children of Prijedor. I thank you for the immediately accepted ideas, which I have no doubt will be realized.

- Also, we agreed to exhibit all the drawings of orphaned children that we brought from Turkey and Reyhanli, which they drew during our second stay, in the City Hall. The exhibition will be of a donor nature, and after the funds are collected, they will be delivered to the orphan camps in Reyhanli on the border of Syria. The Mayor expressed her wish to frame the drawings for the exhibition, which would facilitate the exhibition itself and make it even more beautiful, and we are grateful for that as well.

We thank you, above all, for the reception and the respect shown for our two stays in Turkey after the devastating earthquakes, and we thank you for the token of appreciation in the form of the "Gold Coin of the City of Sarajevo".

Present were Aličković Nihad, Menković Sadik, and Hajdarević Midhat, while we will present the deserved gold coins we received to Mahović Alena and Hodžić Nedžad.

This is the first time that an institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina has recognized the engagement and work of the AntiDayton movement, both on the patriotic path and in the humanitarian field.

Nihad Aličković thanked the Mayor Benjamina Karić, née Londrc, for the reception.

Incidentally, Aličković, with the AntiDayton movement, prepares a commemorative event every year on May 31st to pay tribute to the 102 murdered children of Prijedor.
