Unexploded ordnance being cleared in flooded areas, telecommunications still down

The Government of the Federation of BiH has released an update on the situation in flooded areas over the past three days, reports the Patria News Agency. The very precise report clearly states the situation in cantons and municipalities, reports the Patria News Agency.

Situation in Posavina Canton

According to a report by the "Sava River Water Basin Agency" Sarajevo, project and technical documentation, i.e., Emergency Intervention Elaborates, have been prepared for the repair of breaches in the Sava defense dikes at the Prud, Starača, and Kopanice locations. Based on the aforementioned documentation, final works are being carried out for the emergency repair of the Sava defense dike breaches in the flooded areas of Odžak and central Posavina. They estimate that about 90 percent of the planned works have been completed so far.

Situation in Zenica-Doboj Canton

Telecommunication traffic is still not functional in some areas where installations have been broken due to landslides and rockfalls.

Municipality of Maglaj - On July 18, employees of the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Maglaj, responding to a citizen's report, went to the site and removed a live hand grenade, with its fuse, at the Stari grad location in Maglaj. The aforementioned unexploded ordnance has been stored in the Maglaj Civil Protection warehouse.

Municipality of Olovo - In the village of Olovske Luke, an unknown explosive device was found. The TUN team "A" of the Federal Civil Protection Administration for the Sarajevo Canton area has been called to dismantle and remove the explosive device.

Situation in Tuzla Canton

Municipality of Gradačac - The "A" team of the FUCZ carried out the collection and destruction of unexploded ordnance in the area of the municipality of Gradačac.

Situation in Central Bosnia Canton

Municipality of Bugojno - On July 17, the municipality was hit by heavy rainfall. 42 liters of rain per square meter fell. In the Kula settlement area, storm water overflowed from drainage channels along the local road, flooding ten houses. Water entered the ground floors, basements, and auxiliary buildings.

In the local community of Rovna, the Telešić hamlet, a landslide of approximately 120 m² appeared next to the local asphalt road. The road is passable.
