Remains of three Bosniak victims killed in genocide exhumed in Bratunac and Srebrenica areas

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Incomplete remains of three victims of the past war were exhumed today at three different locations in the municipalities of Bratunac and Srebrenica.

The remains were found on the surface of the ground, at the Pobuđe and Kameničko brdo locations in the municipality of Bratunac, and at the Sućeska location in the municipality of Srebrenica.

According to information available to the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the remains most likely belong to victims of Bosniak nationality who were killed in the genocide committed in July 1995.

Following the exhumation, i.e., the clearing of the terrain, the remains were transferred to the Memorial Center in Tuzla for forensic and forensic-medical processing, as well as for the collection of bone samples for the purpose of identifying the victims using the DNA method.

The exhumation was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and by order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
