Major operation in Otoka: Five persons arrested in connection with robbery and murder in Ilidža

The Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton carried out an arrest operation in the Otoka settlement in the afternoon hours, but all details of this operation were initially shrouded in secrecy, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Only after the arrest footage was released, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, Irfan Nefić, shortly thereafter confirmed to the Patria agency that the five arrested persons are being linked to yesterday's bank robbery in Ilidža and the murder of a random passerby - a cyclist.

- After undertaking comprehensive activities to shed light on the criminal offense of robbery at the branch of "Raiffeisen bank", Rustempašina Street, Ilidža municipality, committed on November 5, 2015, at around 08:50, police officers of the Police Administration of this Ministry, in cooperation with the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, identified, then located, and on November 6, 2015, at 15:15 hours, deprived of liberty five persons (three men and two women) who may be linked to the commission of the aforementioned criminal offense. Criminal-tactical processing of these persons continues with the aim of fully clarifying and documenting the above-mentioned criminal offense - stated the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.

Around 15:00 hours, several vehicles, so-called "maricas" used by special forces, thundered down the main road through Sarajevo, from the direction of the city towards Ilidža, and the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, Irfan Nefić, did not want to provide any information at that time, considering that "we do not have to know every activity of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton."

The footage shows the tow truck service removing a black Audi car, and the persons who were inside it were arrested, and the car was temporarily confiscated.
